Banksy is well known around the world in no small part due to his massive popularity online. Banksy art has made its way into all kinds of nooks and crannies on the internet but few collections are anything close to comprehensive (and in many cases are not even coherent). Most are difficult to navigate and devoid of context, featuring disparate works alongside one another without explanation.

Woman Finds Cash Filled Shoes

Wisconsin woman says she found a wad of cash in a pair of boots she purchased at a thrift store.

Dimitra Anderson said she found the undisclosed amount of cash when she tried a pair of boots and found a sock with a bank envelope inside each of the boots, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday.

The newspaper said Anderson bought the boots for $3, and did not mention the cash she found to the clerk.

Anderson and her husband Rick contacted the Journal Sentinel for help in finding the loot’s owner. If they can’t find the person, the couple say they plan to donate the money to charity.

“I knew I wasn’t going to keep it, no matter how much it was. If it’s going to be mine, it’s going to the Rescue Mission or the Humane Society,” Dimitra Anderson said.

As architects struggle to balance aesthetic appeal with practical considerations, many are finding the best way to create bold, interesting, even mind-bending features is through the use of optical illusions.

Palin Lookalike Stripper Pageant

Some spectacled strippers are looking to score some votes of their own, just for looking like Sarah Palin. A Sin City strip club says it plans to host a lookalike contest in honor of the GOP vice presidential nominee, and is bringing in women from gentlemen’s clubs all over the country to compete.

They’ll be judged by club guests on how they resemble Palin while wearing a swimsuit and how well they debate, according to news release.

A vote will determine the winner. The prize? A $10,000 package including a trip to Washington for Inauguration Day in January.

Officials for Club Paradise Men’s Club in Las Vegas say they’re holding the contest because Palin competed as a beauty queen years ago and is widely impersonated today.

BMF Story Coming To T.V.?

The Black Mafia Family, a nationwide ring of high-volume cocaine distributors, better known as BMF, has been sold to DuBose Entertainment.

Announced today, the terms of the sale were not made public. However, a statement from the company declared that a TV series, similar to The Wire, was being scripted. The statement also alluded to a film script in development as well.

Per DuBose‘ report, “Brothers Demetrious ‘Big Meech’ Flenory and Terry Flenory were sentenced to 30 years in prison for operating a multi-state criminal enterprise involving cocaine distribution. ‘Big Meech,’ the leader of the notorious BMF, lived a lavish lifestyle that he generously shared with his members garnering him a level of notoriety and celebrity status usually reserved for hip hop royalty. Authorities estimate the operation began in Detroit during the 1990s and eventually expanded to Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, California and Texas.“

Meech had been widely known in Hip Hop for his close association with Young Jeezy [click to read] as well as BMF Entertainment’s own artist Bleu DaVinci [click to read].

“This is a complex crime story that weaves elements of humanity, a strong family bond, street-level survival and opulence with real consequences,” says James DuBose. “The acquisition of the Black Mafia Family story reflects my mission to pursue contemporary and authentic stories.“

DuBose

BMF Brothers Get 30 yrs Each!

Kids take notice everybody wants to walk the gangster walk but nobody wants to pay the consequenses. This is how it ends if your lucky most likely it’s an early trip to the cemetary.

Brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory were sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday Sept. 12, for running the cocain ring known as The Black Family Mafia. BMF is an organization that hailed out of Detroit and distributed cocain and other drugs throughout the US. It has been said that rapper Young Jeezy among many other music industry types was associated with BMF.

Via AHH:

Demetrius and Terry were apprehended in 2005 and indicted under the CCE (Continuing Criminal Enterprise) law, which like RICO charges carry life sentences.

Under the federal prison system, there is no parole option.

Seeking to avoid spending the rest of their natural lives in prison, the brothers pleaded guilty in November 2007 to the CCE charges and laundering drug money in hopes of serving the minimum 20 year sentence.

However, evidence presented by prosecutors resulted in 30 year sentences for both men. BMF was founded by the brothers in Detroit during the late 1980s.

After quickly securing valuable contacts with international coke suppliers, the organization grew to a nationwide criminal conspiracy within a few years.

The group began to draw unwanted attention from federal agents in 2003 once they established a high-profile operation in Atlanta, where they erected billboards, held lavish parties, created DVDs, and boasted of their connections with rappers Young Jeezy and Fabolous.

Also notable in the organization’s downfall was Meech’s involvement in a brazen 2003 shootout in the Buckhead nightclub section of Atlanta that left two men dead, including Sean “Diddy” Combs’ bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones.

In 2005, agents raided several key BMF operations in Georgia, Michigan, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and California.

To date, those raids have resulted in over 150 indictments of BMF members or associates, effectively dismantling the drug empire.

According to authorities, these convictions of BMF’s top members end a 15 year investigation into the Black Mafia Family’s criminal enterprise.

At their peak, Demetrius (age 40) and Terry (age 38) Flenory are estimated to have controlled a cocaine empire worth $270 million.

Nun Beauty Pageant!

While Catholic school girls have long garnered attention from the opposite sex, their habit-wearing teachers have never been known for their sex appeal. Nuns seem to be OK with that — after all, one doesn’t pursue an austere life because she wants to get whistles from construction workers.

But an enterprising Italian priest is now hoping to cast a spotlight on the sisterhood by holding the first beauty pageant exclusively for nuns called “Miss Sister Italy.”

“Nuns are above all women and beauty is a gift from God,” said priest Antonio Rungi of the southern Italian diocese of Modragone. “This contest will be a way to show there isn’t just the beauty we see on television but also a more discrete charm.”

In true 21st-century fashion, nuns who want to participate can send their pictures to Rungi, who will publish it on his blog to be voted on.

The biggest mall in America with a hydroponics lab dead smack in the middle. Who ever had the balls to do this is either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid or a bit of both.

via 13 Central Florida

MIAMI — The Drug Enforcement Administration discovered something unexpected in the Mall of the Americas.

DEA agents found a hydroponics lab with more than 200 marijuana plants, standing 3 to 6 feet tall in the air and worth millions of dollars, in a storage area on the second floor of the mall.

Authorities said the electricity that powered the lab was diverted from the mall’s main power supply.

No arrests have been made. Authorities said officials with the Mall of the Americas are cooperating with the investigation.

More Lieing Ass Rappers

Ok kids take note all your favorite rappers who tell story after story of alll the Kilo’s they moved etc are all lieing!! Case in point ex correctional officer Rick Ross

Via TheSmokingGun:

Apparently desperate to distance himself from any affiliation with law enforcement, the rapper Rick Ross has recently denounced as fake photos purporting to show him in a former career as a Florida prison guard. But Department of Corrections (DoC) records show that Ross, whose raps detail the Miami gangster lifestyle and his supposed days trafficking cocaine, did, in fact, work as a correctional officer for 18 months. Ross (real name: William Leonard Roberts) was appointed a prison guard in December 1995 at a salary of $22,913.54, according to the below personnel record, which was provided to TSG by Jo Ellyn Rackleff, a DoC spokesperson. The rapper’s social security number is identical to that of the jail guard. According to the official document, Ross was earning $25,794.34 when he left the department in June 1997. After graduating from the DoC training academy, Ross was assigned to the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County (the lockup is one of three statewide that serves as an intake facility for new prisoners). OBAMA VS THE BABY’S DADDY’S

By Coke

I don’t understand my people sometimes. I’ve read a lot of the black socially-political blogs lately. And I see a lot of black people angry with, (or hating on, depending on how you look at it) Obama, because of the comments he made on Fathers Day regarding black fathers. Now prior to this a lot of these same folks criticized Obama for not addressing the “black issues”. I once heard a preacher in church say, “if you cant say amen, say ouch!” Now, being a very present, black father (no baby daddy) myself, from the “hood” and a the product of a absentee father who I didn’t even meet until I was ten, I can tell you first hand absent black fathers is a HUGE problem in our community. It along with gang violence, drugs, racist cops and a biased judicial system, are to blame for the many disenfranchised young men we see hanging on corners, as well as the ones we hear in rap music spitting such non sense.

Lets face it, most people are not buying music anymore. Why? It’s simple. Why would you buy something that you can get for free. In other words why would a fan buy an artists record when they can simply download it from the thousands of bloggers that are sharing music via file sharing sites. This an issue that the Music Industry needs to face, point blank.

While artists and record companies complain about the their fans disloyalty to the artist, they are failing to adapt to a new era of music consumption. It is beneficial for an artist or record labels to have as much exposure as possible. Yet Some still fail to see the value of having their music pirated or given away for free.

It may even be true that there is a positive correlation between illegal downloads/free give-aways and higher records sales.

Let’s take the example of Lil Wayne. Over the past few years, Wayne has been releasing an unprecedented amount of material which has either been given away for free, or illegally pirated via the internet and mix-tapes. His latest album release the Carter III, was leaked all over the internet, yet sold over a million copies in its first week release. The question is why? It is possible that the pirating of his music served as a marketing tool?

Jeezy Gets Snitched On

Testimony offered yesterday in the federal government’s cocaine-conspiracy case against alleged Black Mafia Family member Fleming “Ill” Daniels revealed a stunning allegation: According to a witness, Atlanta hip-hop superstar Jay “Young Jeezy” Jenkins received kilos of cocaine from BMF.

Jeezy has not been charged with a crime in relation to the allegation. When asked whether there is an open investigation into the rapper, Justice Department spokesman Patrick Crosby said he had no comment.

Scott Leemon, the New York-based lawyer who represented Jeezy on weapons charges out of Miami in 2006, told CL “obviously, I am not going to comment on anything. I will look into it.”

The allegation was raised in U.S. District Court in Atlanta this week by a BMF member named Ralph “Ralphie” Simms. Simms was indicted last year in a related federal drug case in L.A. He told the jury that in exchange for his truthful testimony in the case against Daniels, he hoped to receive a reduced sentence.

Simms testified that his job was to unload BMF’s cocaine from limos outfitted with secret compartments. He said he piled as many as 100 “bricks” of cocaine at a time inside the basement of one of BMF’s stash houses, an ultra-modern Buckhead mansion nicknamed “Space Mountain.” And he said that on one occasion, in the fall of 2004, he was ordered by high-ranking BMF members Chad “J-Bo” Brown and Martez “Tito” Byrth to set aside multi-kilo cocaine “shipments” for two customers. Simms said the customers picked up the coke from him at Space Mountain.

When asked by assistant U.S. Attorney Robert McBurney who the customers were, Simms gave two names: William “Doc” Marshall, a high-level BMF co-conspirator who testified earlier in the trial, and “Jeezy.”

“Young Jeezy the rapper?” McBurney asked.

“Yes,” Simms answered.
