There’s beer in my chocolate! There’s chocolate in my beer! Somehow this combo doesn’t feel nearly as right as Reese’s famous mixing of peanut butter and chocolate. I drink many different types of beer, but I don’t think this chocolate beer is going to work for me. Anybody tried this?

A group of researchers are developing a beer that could reduce the risk of cancer.
An ambitious team consisting of six undergraduates from Rice University is working on genetically grafting resveratrol — an antibiotic that is a natural component of grapes — into the ingredients that make up beer.

Previous experimentation has suggested resveratrol gives red wine anti-aging and cancer-fighting qualities. But the Rice students believe that designing beer with higher and more consistent concentrations of the chemical will create a frosty adult beverage with even better preventative powers.

Some customers claim that Yat-chan can even understand their exact orders.

“We called out for more beer just then and it brought us some beer!” said customer Miho Takikkawa, who came to the tavern specifically to meet the monkeys.

“It’s amazing how it seems to understand human words.”

The monkeys work in shifts of up to a maximum of two hours a day due to Japanese animal rights regulations.

But owner Otsuka is hoping to train another generation of monkey waiters, after receiving three new baby monkeys this year.
